Congressional Cannabis Caucus Co-Chairs Earl Blumenauer (D-OR) and Barbara Lee (D-CA) today released a Memorandum, "Year in Review: Cannabis Reform on Capital Hill," providing guidance on congressional cannabis policy priorities heading into the 2022 election year. The memorandum highlights the growing bi-partisan public support for cannabis legalization and numerous state-initiated advancements in fair and equitable cannabis policy. While the memorandum notes a record number of cannabis proposals before Congress, failure of the SAFE Banking Act to gain passage in the National Defense Authorization Act means the Caucus has few concrete policy advancements to tout. Policy priorities in 2022 continue to be federal de-scheduling of cannabis, criminal sentencing reform, industry equity, health and safety research, and "keeping the federal government from interfering with state-level cannabis practices."

A copy of the memorandum is available here.
